Masters Tournament Betting Games

The Masters Betting Guide 2021 The Masters Tournament will be the first major of the PGA Tour’s 2021 schedule after being the last major in 2020. Postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this past Masters was held Nov. 12-15 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga, with Dustin Johnson taking the title. The 2021 Masters will run April 8-11.

  1. Re: Masters betting games Posted by Jones on 4/7/15 at 10:43 am to wahoocs Last one I played in was years ago. Everyone picked 5 golfers and low score wins the whole thing. 1st place is 1 point, 2nd-2points, etc all the way to the bottom.
  2. The Masters is the equivalent of the Super Bowl to the golf world, so it makes sense that it perennially has the widest array of betting options of any tournament. One of the most fun ways to put some money on the action is through props.

A tradition unlike any other? Is it really, though? Isn’t The Masters supposed to be played in the Spring every year? Ever since its inception, yea.

2020, though, has broken quite a few traditions and I have a feeling that 2021 will do the same. I will spare you my soapbox coronavirus speech and we can stick with golf today.

So, if not in mid-April, then when are we going to get our first glimpse at the awesome Augusta National Golf Club? Thursday, November the 12th is the day.

The world’s best will tee it up on one of the most beautiful sets of links on the globe.

  • The US Open location changes every year.
  • So does the PGA Championship.
  • And the Open Championship as well.
  • Not the Masters, though, and I think that is what makes it so special.

Flashback to April 1997. Some of you know where I’m going with this one.

Tiger Woods put on the greatest performance we may ever see at Augusta National.

The runner up, Tom Kite, finished up his Sunday 6 under par for the tournament. Tiger Woods shot a 270, a course record, and finished with a score of -18.

The margin of victory was also a record. Woods would go on to win the 2000 US Open by 15 strokes.

Just in case there are any fans out there trying to compare any of today’s PGA Tour stars to a prime Tiger Woods, remember that there are levels to this stuff.

Eldrick Tont reminded any of those who may have forgotten in 2019 when he won the Masters by one stroke.

It was truly one of those moments that brought together much of America even if it was just for a few fleeting minutes. I hope we can have more and more moments like that as a nation but this election year sure doesn’t help much.

Tiger Woods will be in the field for this year’s Masters. He only has 7 golfers above him on the betting board. Those are your usual suspects.

The favorite might surprise you but if you’ve been keeping up with the PGA Tour since the return from lockdown, then you might be able to guess.

Formerly known as Bryson Slo-Mo Dechambeau not because he plays his shots that much quicker than he did in the past but more so because he put on about 135 pounds of solid muscle during the quarantine.

We shall now call him Bryson D-Bol DeChambeau. I believe that is more fitting.

MastersTournament

He got jacked and started driving the ball further than Happy Gilmore but his accuracy was off and he struggled on the tightly tree-lined courses, especially the ones that were dog-legged.

He is driving the ball 344 yards off the tee! On average!

The California native won the first major tournament of the 2020-2021 PGA Tour season, the US Open, just a few weeks ago.

Brooks Koepka, a name we haven’t mentioned in a little while, will be in the field at The Masters in search of his first title at Augusta. His betting odds are currently sitting at 18 to 1.

Daniel Berger, another post-lockdown killer, has long odds of 50 to 1 right now. That could be a possible play for us right now.

It’s early but he has been one of the most consistent golfers, consistently playing at a high level that is, since the PGA Tour’s return from quarantine in June.

BetOnline has these betting odds for us. Let’s talk about which golfers might break the bank for you in a few weeks at Augusta National.

The Masters – Notable Betting Odds

Cameron Champ: +10000

This will be Cam’s first Masters and it’s no secret that Augusta favors the strong and bold off the tee.

On paper, his all-around golf game isn’t the best for Augusta but he goes for it and when he is on, he is on. At 100-1, we only need to win 1% of the time to make money.

He ranked 2nd in shots gained off the tee last year. He is right behind Bryson in driving distance this year at 344 yards.

The kid is 25 now and that’s about the time we have seen some young guy make the jump in their career to the next level.

He is undoubtedly talented and aggressive enough to win the whole thing so even if it’s just 10 bucks to win 1000.00, I think a little dough on Cam Champ isn’t the worst idea.

Rickie Fowler: +5000

The pastel pompadour at 50 to 1? I might take a stab at that.

12th, 11th, 2nd, and 9th place finishes in four of his past 5 appearances at Augusta. He plays very well here and can be one of the best in the world when he is on his game.

His current form is kinda crappy but he is still gaining a lot of shots off the tee.

Rickie is streaky and he is worth a stab at 50 to 1 considering he was one of the best averaging finishing places on the leaderboards over the past 5 years.

Daniel Berger: +5000

This is my dude, right here.

We have ridden Daniel to a few nice wins. He is incredibly well-rounded, coming off of his best year ever, 27 years old, and primed for a Masters win.

That would put his name right up there in the Justin Thomas and Xander Sschauffele conversations, in my opinion. I’m still mad at JT for letting Morikawa beat him in a playoff at the Workday Charity Open over the Summer. We had him at (+1200)!

As far as betting goes and paying us well, he had a better second half of 2020 than those two.

2020 isn’t over yet? Oh my gosh. Well, I suppose November 3rd isn’t that far away.

Berger ranked 5th last season in birdie average and 6th in shots gained overall.

He has played the Masters in the past and performed up to his level of recent play. Now that he has clearly leveled up, if he gets hot, the guy could run away with this thing.

Not Tiger Woods level domination but Daniel could win by a few strokes.

Xander Schauffele: +1800

A little stronger off the tee than Berger, Xander Schauffele also has more experience playing in majors at a high level.

The X-Man is quickly proving to be one of those guys who shows up when the pressure is on. That is unless he is playing on his home course in La Jolla, California. In that case, fade fade fade.

I’m not sure why he chokes at home but maybe he is one of those guys who feel more pressure when the stakes are lower or when he is expected to win.

Nobody expects him to win the Masters. Bryson DeChambeau is the favorite and his odds are at almost 9 to 1. Tiger Woods holds the course record and won here in 2019 and he has even longer betting odds.

This is a big tournament with the best guys in the world and boy does Xander shine in major tournaments. Schauffele finished runner up to Tiger Woods at The Masters last year.

His form is great coming off of a 5th palace finish at the US Open.

The X-man is a solid pick here.

We will revisit these betting odds soon and we will have a better idea of current form heading into The Masters.

In Conclusion

Are we all still going to be alive after Election Day? If they do riot, I don’t think they will make their way over to Augusta National Golf Club.

The Masters is happening this year!

It was bad enough we had to miss the tournament in April but at that point, we had no idea what kind of illness we were dealing with.

Golf is back now, albeit without fans, but soon, soon I hope.

Some NFL football games are starting to allow up to 10,000 fans. It is going to be a long few weeks as we know but I am so thankful that we have sports to get us through this difficult time.

The Masters is a tradition unlike any other.

So, under these circumstances, I understand altering the tradition once but don’t cancel the thing!

We all want to see if Tiger Woods can match his performance from 2019 and if Bryson DeChambeau will continue to distance himself from his peers.

It may be several months late, but the 2020 Masters is finally here, bringing it with several enticing storylines and betting odds.

That starts with Bryson DeChambeau, the favorite to win at Augusta National Golf Club after his win in the 2020 U.S. Open in September. His power-based approach to the game has been controversial to say the least, but you can't deny its effectiveness in recent outings.

Other golfers to look out for include 2020 FedEx Cup Champion Dustin Johnson, world No. 2 Jon Rahm and, of course, Tiger Woods — the 2019 champion looking for not only his second consecutive Masters win but also his record-tying sixth green jacket.

With that, here's everything you need to know to bet on the 2020 Masters, including odds and past winners:

Who will win the Masters Tournament in 2020?

DeChambeau is the odds-on favorite after having won the 2020 U.S. Open with a score of 6-under 274. Johnson, Rahm and Thomas, the world Nos. 1-3 golfers, respectively, enter at +1200, +1100 and +1200, respectively.

DeChambeau will look for a second major win in as many months, but Woods, the defending champion, will look to earn a second-consecutive win at Augusta as well. He enters with +2700 odds overall.

Tiger enters the 2020 Masters looking for the tournament's first back-to-back championship since he won it all in 2001 and '02. Another win would give him his fifth overall win at Augusta since 2000 (he also won in 2005). Only Phil Mickelson (three) and Bubba Watson (two) have won multiple Masters tournaments since 2000.
